Although we changed the clocks this week, which means Springtime and new life are around the corner, there is still so much darkness in our world.
Politically, socially and economically, there is a lot of fear, anger and uncertainty.
So why am I talking about this in a newsletter about Tapping?
Well, the reality is that things that go on outside of ourselves are often out of our control. That is not always the case of course. Sometimes there are actions we can take to change the outcome, but often we are powerless, which is one of the worst feelings in the world.
When we see and hear terrible things and feel powerless to change them, our fight or flight gland - the Amygdala - goes into action. When that occurs, our physiology gets hijacked. Our body secretes Cortisol, the stress hormone, along with other harmful chemical reactions. Blood flows away from our frontal cortex where critical thinking takes place. Our immune system shuts down and digestion comes to a halt. All this occurs because our body thinks we are in danger even though physically we are safe.
So where does Tapping come in, you ask? Tapping CALMS THE AMYGDALA, allowing all those harmful reactions to reverse and allows your body and mind to come into a state of relaxation.
A round of Tapping literally takes about 1-2 minutes, and the difference you feel will be instantly noticeable! It might take more than 1 round, but often not.
If you need a refresher on Tapping points, see my You Tube @tapwithin-1 “How to get started with Tapping”
Here is an example for a Tapping round that I hope will be helpful:
- Set up statement: While Tapping on the side of the hand
- Even though this (fill in the blank) is going on and I feel powerless to change it, I’m safe right here, right now.
- Even though this (fill in the blank) is going on and I don’t understand it and I don’t agree with it, I’m still safe right here, right now.
- Even though this (fill in the blank) is happening and it makes me scared and uncomfortable, it’s safe for me to relax anyway.
For the reminder points:
Whatever emotion you are feeling in response to the “fill in the blank you used” ie;
- This anxiety
- This fear
- This discomfort
- This anger……
** If there are several emotions, I would focus on one at a time with each round.
Then under the arm “Letting it all go now. I am safe”
Tapping is an easy, quick and wonderful way to come back into balance no matter what is happening in the outside world.
I am grateful every single day of my life to have this tool which allows me to feel empowered with the ability to take control of my own well being.
As always, if you have any questions or need some help with wording, feel free to reach out via text, call or email. Often a whole session is not needed. I LOVE to help Tapping be the most effective for all.
I offer sessions with ZOOM or in person if you live in North Idaho.
Happy Tapping!
