A client recently wrote to me and said "My baseline nervous system feels dramatically lower, calmer and more regulated. I just don't feel like I am on the edge all the time anymore."
This was after one session with me, but honestly, most of the time you can do this yourself. The way to release a trauma is to simply tell the story while Tapping on the 9 Tapping points. You don't need a set up statement, just Tap on all the points while saying the story out loud. You can say it in a mirror, to a friend, or while sitting by yourself. Out loud is important because the loop from speaking to hearing seems to be helpful, in my experience.
If at any point the trauma feels too painful to talk about, pause, remind yourself you are safe here and now. It's only a memory in your mind, it's not actually happening at this moment.
Another approach is to be general at first.
In this case, I would use the set up statement...
"Even though "this thing" happened to me, I'm safe right here, right now." Do one or two rounds with "this thing".....
Then you could bring it in closer such as ...
"Even though "This thing happened with my mom". It's OK for me let it go" or whatever soothing words you want to use.
With each round it should feel easier to proceed with the more specific until you can tell the story and feel safe while doing so.
If it still feels too difficult, you can schedule a private session with me.
Always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out anytime by Text, Phone, Email. I am a resource for anyone who has worked with me. I LOVE this stuff and anytime I can help make Tapping more effective, I am happy!
What a different world we would live in if everyone could release all the past traumas from their lives! Tapping makes that possible!
My You Tube channel has some videos talking about trauma that might be helpful as well.
