I hope you are continuing to use Tapping in your life for whatever may be bothering you at any given time. I LOVE this tool! I'll bet you didn't know that :)
In this newsletter, I'd like to explain a concept that is very helpful when a reaction to something seems exaggerated and out of proportion. It sometimes happens when your brain connects 2 experiences that are not actually connected. It's called DELINKING.
I was recently visiting a friend at her workplace when a young coworker's foot got closed in the door ever so gently. The girl started screaming and said the pain was 10 out of 10. She was crying hysterically, although there was no visible sign of an injury, it wasn't swollen or bruised.
As I started Tapping with her, she immediately recognized the last time she had a foot injury. It was severe and her soccer career had ended. She had been a great soccer player and was in line for a scholarship, which she then lost.
As soon as she recognized the connection that was causing so much distress, her pain went down to a 2, and then to 0 as we Tapped one more round.
Another client of mine had a car accident, which was followed by years of chronic illness. She eventually healed. Years went by and she had another car accident. At the moment of impact, her brain said, "here we go again, we are going to get sick all over again!" and she fell into chronic illness for a few more years.
When we Tapped together and I was able to give her words to "delink" the connection, her illness healed quickly.
If you recognize this may be the situation you are struggling with, here are the words you can use for the set up statement......
"Even though I have this problem - Whatever it might be - and it's possibly connected to - whatever that might be - "I am asking my brain to delink these 2 experiences. That was then and this is now. They are not the same thing".
For the reminder phrases and points, you can just say the issue that is bothering you as you would use for any other round of Tapping.
"This headache, This sadness", etc.
As I teach all my clients, the 9 points we use in Tapping are the same no matter what the issue is. The wording is the ONLY thing that changes to make it the most effective.
As always, if you ever get stuck with wording, I am here to help. A session is often not needed, just a few minutes can help clarify what words are needed.
Feel free to call, text or email and I'm happy to help!
I am offering small group Tapping Workshops in your home for 4 or more people. This can also be a ZOOM session with several others.
If your workplace could benefit from a Tapping Workshop - honestly is there anywhere that wouldn't benefit from learning this incredible tool? - please reach out.
I hope you are sharing this tool with friends and loved ones! We can all use more peace and relaxation (AND LESS YUCKIES) in our lives :)
Happy Tapping!
