February 2025

I am constantly amazed at the emotional element that shows up when Tapping with clients who are having pain. It doesn’t have to be a trauma that caused the pain, as in my case. Often it is simply what a client has been told about the pain itself. I recently worked with a woman who had what she described as a “botched surgery” on her knee 12 years prior.

During the long journey to healing, she had physical therapy; which is often one of the healing modalities used to recover from surgery.
She described the therapist as “uncaring and rough”. My client felt like she was being blamed for not healing quick enough. During one of the sessions, the physical therapist said to her “You’re going to have to have another surgery and they will have to “CRANK YOUR KNEE” to fix it”.

Those words left an anger in her body, specifically her knee, that we were able to Tap out, allowing the pain to resolve.

In a situation like this, all that is needed is to tell the story while Tapping on the 9 points. No set up statement is required.

Sometimes you’ll find a specific aspect of the story that is remaining after the first round of Tapping, not allowing complete resolution. You can then use that specific aspect in the next round, this time using a set up statement.

For example: Using the set up statement  “Even though she said “Crank my knee”, it’s OK for me to release this now, or it’s safe to relax about this now, or that’s in the past and it’s OK to let it go” etc.
Reminder phrases on the next 7 points could be “Crank my knee” then for the last point under the arm, “Letting it all go now”.

Hoping this can be helpful If anyone is experiencing pain that won’t resolve.

As a reminder, I am a forever resource if you get stuck on wording. No need for a full session, sometimes just a short phone call or text or email is all that’s needed to find the specific words needed for your body to heal.
